“Kathakali” is a classic dance form of Kerala and Kathakali Offerings are dedicated to the Lord Vishnumaya during Pournamy (full moon day) and Amavasy (no moon day) to get the deity’s blessings while the start of special poojas on those days. Lord Vishnumaya has a great interest in dance (Nritha). So on these auspicious days, Nritha is offered to the deity depicting his own stories.
We shall see here a list of stories:
Parvathy-Koolivaka Episode : Lord Siva asked Koolivaka to be his son’s mother. She felt sorrow and the goddess Parvathy consoles her. One who does this performance in the divine seat of Vishnumaya will definitely be relieved from their family problems.
Vishnumaya’s Incarnation : Vishnumaya was actually born to the Lord Siva and the disguised Parvathy as a son. People will obviously get good married life with worthy children provided this performance is arranged by the person in the divine seat of Vishnumaya.
Vishnumaya-Koolivaka Episode : It is a conversational episode that happens between Lord Vishnumaya and his foster mother on the topic about how to be ambitious in life. Lord Vishnumaya, no doubt, will reward the presenter of this dance piece with great job opportunities at native place and abroad.
Deva- Mahisha Episode : Mahisha is the divine vehicle of Lord Vishnumaya. Mahisha boasted in his attitude. But Lord Vishnumaya advice converts Mahisha to a humble being. One who performs this episode will attain victory in legal cases, exams and will be free from mental stress.
Vishnumaya Vijayam : This episode reflects the Lord Vishnumaya’s victory which is very important in his life. When a person offers this episode to the deity, it is sure of success in any activity in the life.
Deva –Mahadeva Episode : This episode covers the meeting and conversation of Vishnumaya with his real parents Siva and Parvathy. Blessings of Siva, Parvathy and Vishnumaya will yield a good relationship between the family, office and other places to the performer.
Killing of Demons : The episode, killing of demons like Bhringa or Jalandhara is to praise the Lord. One who arranges or performs this will be relieved of all the ill-effects of Navagraha deities especially Saturn (Sani) and curses.
Vishnumaya Pooja : This Pooja conveys how Vishnumaya had come to bless Devasthanam. If any devotee offers the Lord with the performance, the effect of offerings will remove Vaasthu bad effects.
Peringottukara Devasthanam, Thrissur, Kerala is the pioneer of Sree Vishnumaya Swami and Sree Bhuvaneswari Devi Temple with the original tradition.
